Computer software developers who are planning to create a program for econometric applications should evaluate several considerations. These include man-machine interface, database management capabilities, specific econometric functionality and overall environment in which the program is utilized. Software developers can learn lessons from the creation of the MODLER BLUE econometric software regarding these issues.
