Opera singer, Patricia Racette, born in 1966, is hailed as one of the greatest sopranos produced in United States. On October 13, 1991 she appeared for the first time as an San Francisco Opera (SFO) principal artist, in a company production of Bizet's Carmen, playing a rival for the love of Don Jose and was rewarded by the audience with a warm ovation.
