Whitman, Christine Todd

New Jersey Gov. Christine Todd Whitman was born on Sep. 26, 1946 in New York State. She was elected 50th governor of New Jersey on Nov. 2, 1993. She has since made good her promise to cut taxes and improve the state budget. She is expected to be a strong vice-presidential candidate for the 1996 elections.

Miller, Zell

Zell Miller was elected the governor of Georgia in 1990 after serving in the state's legislature and as lieutenant governor of the state. Miller, a Democrat, has worked hard to improve public education and reduce crime in the state. He began a scholarship program for college students.
