A new look for the Rhinebeck Jamboree: 31 years and still going strong

Article Abstract:

The 31-year-old Rhinebeck Jamboree had undergone many changes, as evidenced by that held on Sept 6 and 7, 1997. The 1997 Jamboree allowed more breathing space for scale modelers, shifting from intense competition to a gentler one. The Rhinebeck Aerodrome has also been widened.

Flying flapjack: did the military turn its back on a safer way?

Article Abstract:

Zimmerman's 1938 patent was for a revolutionary wing design which made for a safer plane. Slow controlled flight as well as speeds of 400-mph were now possible. The design was ignored for four decades but today its designer and the design have been 'rediscovered.'

Rhinebeck Airdrome 26th Jamboree

There were a total of 589 scored flights recorded at the 26th Jamboree. Winning contestants and unusual entries in the precision scale, large-scale, sport scale and freestyle events are discussed.
