Breast cancer awareness stamp slated for June

Article Abstract:

On Jun 15, 1996, a breast cancer awareness stamp will be issued. On the same day, a 5K National Race for the Cure will occur in 65 US cities. In 1995, more than 26,000 people were in the Washington, DC race. The race and stamp issue will start a month-long campaign sponsored by such groups as the YMCA.

The US Postal Service will issue a stamp commemorating the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands on Nov 4, 1993, in Saipan, Mariana Islands. The stamp depicts a native woman under the commonwealth flag, indigenous stone pillars and palm trees.
