The 1996 International Aerial Robotics Competition wanted aerial robots that can handle materials without human intervention. Numerous participants representing universities from Europe, Canada and the US entered machines that could find, map and bring back materials with minimal human intervention.

Aero*Comp is a new software program that can be used to evaluate airplane performance. It requires 320K of hard disk space and 400K of RAM. It provides information on the power needed by the model and the right ratio of propeller to motor size.
