New U.N. Stamps celebrate 50th anniversary
Article Abstract:
The sheetlet of stamps which forms a collage of faces representing the peoples of the earth, was design by Ben Verkaaik from the Netherlands. It commemorates the Charter of the United Nations. Because of the nature of the design, first day covers will be jumbo sized with six stamps each.

Many nations celebrate the Year of the Rat with stamps
Article Abstract:
Artists Yuan Lee of Taiwan was commissioned to design all of the Rat Year commemorative stamps. The nations issuing the stamps include Dominica, Gambia, Ghana, Grenada, Guyana, and Sierra Leone. The Lunar Year of the Rat will replace the current Year of the Pig on Feb 19, 1996.
