Lighthouse stamps dedicated on Coast Guard cutter

Article Abstract:

Five new US stamps commemorating lighthouses on each of the Great Lakes were dedicated on the USCG cutter SUNDEW June 17, 1995. The lighthouses at Thirty Mile Point, Lake Ontario; Marblehead, Lake Erie; Spectacle Reef, Lake Huron; St Joseph, Lake Michigan; and Split Rock, Lake Superior are described.

Jersey butterfly stamps to premiere in Singapore

Article Abstract:

The commemorative butterfly issue consists of a souvenir sheet plus a set of five depictions of exotic butterflies. The butterflies are not indigenous to Jersey, but they may be seen at the Jersey Butterfly Centre. Jersey will share its Singapore booth with Guernsey and the Isle of Man post offices.

A history of the Slesvig plebiscite stamps

Article Abstract:

In 1920 a plebiscite was held by the Commission Internationale Slesvig to determine to which country Schleswig-Holstein should belong. Germany and Denmark were the opponents. The northern section populated by Danes voted for Denmark. The CIS and later Denmark issued commemorative stamps.
