The America's Cup 2000 will be held in Auckland, New Zealand, from Feb 19 to Mar 4, 1999. Other events will also be hosted by the city in celebration of the new millenium. These include the Millenium Golf 2000 and the UIM World Powerboat Championships.

The New York Yacht Club has announced plans to mount a challenge in the America's Cup to be held in Auckland, New Zealand, in the year 2000. The NYYC has selected the PACT racing team to build two new boats and modify 'Young America.'
