New Finnish booklet celebrates cinema anniversary

Article Abstract:

On April 1, 1996 a booklet of stamps featuring the pictures of Finnish movie celebrities was issued. It honors the 100th anniversary of Finnish cinema. A set of four maximum postal cards were also issued for the occasion. The growth and development of the industry in Finland is described.

AMERICOVER celebrates AFDCS 40th anniversary

Article Abstract:

The AFDCS annual convention, AMERICOVER, will mark the group's 40th anniversary beginning Aug 4, 1995, in Irvine, CA. The US Postal Service will release a new $10.75 Express Mail stamp at a First Day ceremony Aug 5. Exhibits, meetings and presentations are previewed.

USPS celebrates Naval Academy's 150th anniversary

Article Abstract:

On Oct 10, 1995 a stamp bearing the design of a racing sloop with the Navel Academy buildings in the background, was issued to honor the 150 years of the school. The Academy was founded in 1845 at Annapolis, MD. A brief history of the Academy is presented.
