Paris dealers take advantage of strong franc

Article Abstract:

An American stamp dealer describes his amazement at a French postage stamp auction by Matthew Bennett Auctions. The auction was well-run, but the high prices generated by less than perfect items caused concern. Most of the sales were made to Parisian stamp dealers, which added to the mystery.

'Inslepost' overprints on German military stamps

Article Abstract:

Some of the German Army was isolated on a few Mediterranean islands towards the end of World War II and could only use airmail to communicate with the mainland. These letters were stamped with the Inselpost or Island Post stamp. Covers with these markings are described.
