"Focused joint ventures" in transforming economies

Article Abstract:

China's long experience with foreign joint ventures can be used as a model for East European companies planning to do the same. Both China and Eastern Europe currently face similar conditions such as political turbulence and transforming economies. Successful joint operations in China were found to have similar characteristics. All tend to have strict standards and prescribed operations. They also have motivated employees that produce only few related products. Eastern European countries can learn from these Chinese companies in establishing joint ventures with foreign companies.
