Spring 1996 Israeli postage stamps include the songbird stamps honoring the philatelists' convention to be held in Beijing May 18-24 1996, and stamps for composer Gustaf Mahler. Honored also are slain police officers, the 75th anniversary of the Hebrew Writers Assn and the Jewish village of Metullah.

Canada Post honors maple leaf flag anniversary

Article Abstract:

Canada Post Corp issued a stamp in honor of the 30th anniversary of the Canadian flag. The stamp depicts the Canadian flag and a Canadian landscape scene. Canada Post also issued a 5-stamp set commemorating the Fortress of Louisbourg.

COMPEX honors U.N. anniversary
