A mini-sheet on Swedish air pioneers was issued. Carl Richard Nyberg, aircraft designer, Carl Gustaf Cederstrom, the Flying Baron, Thulin Enoch, construction and production of wartime aircraft, and Albin Ahrenerg, Father of Swedish Aviation, are honored. Other aviation stamp issues are described.

Ireland celebrates the rich tradition of horse racing

Article Abstract:

Five commemorative stamps honoring the Irish love for horse-racing were issued Mar 12, 1996 by the Irish postal authorities. The importance of horse racing in Irish life is discussed. It is probably the nation's most popular sport. Horse races are carried on in a festival atmosphere.
