Article Abstract:
Tadzhikistan has issued several stamps honoring its national culture and heritage since its independence from the former USSR in 1991. Four stamps issued in 1992 depict ancient monuments, animals and musical instruments. The history and culture of Tadzhikistan is discussed.

Uzbekistan has issued many stamps honoring its culture and heritage in 1992-93, since its independence from the former USSR. The stamps depict ancient buildings, artifacts, monarchs, animals and the national flag. The history and background of Uzbekistan is discussed.
