The Vruwink Collection

Article Abstract:

Emma Vruwink of Bellvue, Washington, received her first teddy bear in 1918 when she was two years old. The Steiff was as large as she was, but she dragged it everywhere. She now has about 100 bears in the collection that was started when she was in her 60s.

The April Phipps collection

April Phipps has a collection of 1,000 to 2,000 teddy bears and another 2,000 bear-related items in her Chattanooga, TN, home. Her collection includes bears from more than 100 artists and hundreds of manufacturers.

The Meeneghan collection

Audrey Meenaghan began collecting teddy bears in the 1970s when she purchased a Steiff bear at a country auction. She now owns 150 bears, including early American teddies and limited-edition Steiff teddies.
