United Front

Article Abstract:

On Demand Management (ODM) is launching a new pay per view (PPV) movie service provider in the UK, called Front Row, which will begin broadcasting during the beginning of 1998. The movies will only be shown on cable channels, reducing the dependence cable firms have on BSkyB to provide movies. Andy Birchall and Tony Kelly feel BSkyB has too much influence over the way cable firms run their schedules. Viewers will have more choice to decide which movies they want to see, rather than having to pay for programme packages from BSkyB.
