Article Abstract:

The proper identification of dolls whose original makers are unknown can now be undertaken. The 'German Doll Encyclopedia' of Jurgen and Marianne Cieslik contains records of mold numbers and design patents of many of these 'mystery maker' dolls.

Movie star dolls

Article Abstract:

The popularity of actors and actresses spawned an industry of dolls made in their image. Some actors licensed the dolls which were dressed in costumes based on their most famous films, particularly those made in the period between 1910 and 1960.
