A gardening life: Polly Hill

Article Abstract:

Polly Hill began planting trees and shrubs on Barnard's Inn Farm in West Tisbury, Martha's Vineyard. This garden comprises 20-odd acres of meadows and fields divided, which are framed by plantings of trees and shrubs and has maturity, beauty and diversity.

When the flowers fade

The methods are highlighted which when applied could make the garden a place to relax one's minds, heads and hearts. It is suggested that the wondrous tresses and colors possess an inner beauty that can make the gardens beautiful.
