Article Abstract:

Virginia bluebells are colorful additions to gardens. Bluebells are woodland plants that cen be made to adapt in gardens by covering the soil with sphagnum moss or compost and adequate water. They can be planted with shrubs that have flowers of contrasting color to heighten their hues.

Pat Penn's garden is planted with 28 varieties of flowering plants. The arrangement is enhanced by a narrow lawn bordering a small terrace. The terrace provides her with an area where she can sit and relax while viewing the colorful array of her plants.
