Research by accident

Article Abstract:

The development of a new technology represents a new avenue to technological and environmental knowledge in terms of unexpected findings. This is demonstrated by research and development endeavors in the field of nuclear weapons. The Hiroshima bombing, for instance, introduced a new weapon impact in the form of neutron radiation that could have served military interests. The issue concerning the availability and dissemination of scientific knowledge is also illustrated in energy research during the 1970s and the early 80s.

Bobby Silverman: objects of pure perception

Article Abstract:

Silverman's work appears to explore the notion of ceramic vessels as merely functional objects. His forms reflect not only function but also ideas or ideals. Silverman's approach to his work and its processes emanates from a quest for truth and beauty that transcends most ideas of utility.
