Breaking ground: the first days of spring are upon us, and so is planting time

Article Abstract:

There are many potato varieties, including blue, and some require special growing conditions. Tips are given on preparing the gound and planting the seed potatoes. Pests and disease are also discussed. Conditions needed for seed germination include enough moisture. How to plant seeds is described.

Jewels in the treetops: after wintering in the tropics, warblers return to North America each spring

Article Abstract:

Warblers are night travelers as they migrate between the north and the tropics. Identifying features for seven common warblers are given. Their numbers are declining from imbalances in the environment caused by such as logging and road building. How to make a backyard water lure is described.
