Cotter unveils Triad alliance, international facility

Article Abstract:

Cotter & Co formed a business alliance with Triad Systems Corp to provide improved computer systems to True Value dealers. The companies will combine their efforts to help True Value members select the right computer system, Triad or TruTrac, for their businesses. Cotter also opened its True Value International division headquarters in Peachtree City, GA, to serve international dealers who got their supplies from West and East Coast centers.

Cotter promos build name recognition

Cotter & Co. is using print and broadcasting advertisements to strengthen True Value Store's brand image. The company has also initiated several co-op wide programs to strengthen the hardware store's national image. Member programs include automatic tie-ins with broadcast commercials, the True Value Mastercard and a long-running direct-mail circular.

Cotter, Servistar announce merger

Article Abstract:

Cotter & Co and Servistar Coast to Coast Corp executives announced on Dec 10, 1996, that both companies' boards had approved a merger agreement. The companies will officially merge in Jul 1997, forming an organization to be known as TruServ Corp. The merger joins the hardware industry's biggest and third-biggest cooperatives.
