Dragonware

Article Abstract:

Ceramics with dragon designs, which were first popular in the 1940s and 1950s, are attractive collectibles. Collectors should, however, carefully choose them according to workmanship quality which is often variable. The best have highly detailed designs and come in subtle colors.

Wade pottery: as disinterred from the Red Rose Tea boxes

Article Abstract:

The Wade Group of Potteries in England are the manufacturers of little figurines that are used as premiums found in Red Roses Tea boxes. These mini-animal figurines were first made in the mid-1960s by George Wade and Son Ltd. and were sold in Canada and the US.

Lustreware

Article Abstract:

Lustreware are pieces of brightly glazed earthenware typically made in Japan in the early 1930s. Lustreware tea sets and novelties were made to mimic porcelain and were imported in large quantities in the US. The sets are decorated with floral designs.
