Spring photographs auction at Swann Galleries features daguerreotype of Frederick Douglas

Article Abstract:

The Apr 7, 1993, auction featured stereographs, tintypes and other photographs of the 19th and 20th centuries. The daguerreotype of Douglas sold for $20,900. Photographs of African-Americans, Brazilian, Cuban and Europeans were auctioned.

Branches of flowering shrubs can be forced to bloom as soon as their buds begin to swell. Steps include cutting the branches, splitting the stems and standing the branches in a sturdy container filled with water for about a week.
