From the office to the opry: Julie Roberts, Nashville

Article Abstract:

Julie Roberts, a native of South Carolina moved to Nashville to attend Belmont University, landed an internship and started working as an assistant to Luke Lewis, Chairman of Universal Music Group, during the day and performed at any Nashville venue at night. Julie's producer, Brent Rowan, pitched the demo of her own singing voice to Luke Lewis who liked it and got a record deal with Mercury Records which was her first step to fame.

Frank Gonzalez came to the U.S. from Cuba without any money and has since opened up a chain of grocery stores that cater to Hispanics around North Carolina. With the Hispanic population growing, Gonzalez knows his customer base will also grow.
