Southern flowers, such as scarlet rose mallow, ironweed, verbena and goldenrod, can provide garden enthusiasts with the summer colors they desire even during fall. These flowers normally grow along roadsides and fields in Southern states.

Chinese evergreens

Chinese evergreens are traditionally regarded as one of the perennial houseplants to grow. These plants, which grow as high as 24 inches, are now available in stylish varieties such as the green rembrandt and Queen of Siam.

Upping the stakes

Article Abstract:

A description is presented of the benefits which can be gained from the staking of plants which tend to fall over when their flowers become heavy after rain. The use of glazed spheres to decorate the canes is discussed.
