Karen Lamonte: Reflections on glass

Article Abstract:

Karen Lamonte, in her large-scale freestanding sculptures, examines the female body under and through glass, through the translucent folds and drapery of dress. She is the first American artist to work at the Lhotsy glassworks for her practicality and her dresses unveil the repressed meaning that glass has a covert sexual content.
