Man versus mosquito

Article Abstract:

The most effective method for controlling mosquitos is prevention, but there are also chemical and organic means of eliminating the blood-sucking, disease carrying pests. To prevent an overrun of mosquitoes on property, remove standing water and do not over-irrigate gardens and lawns. Pond owners should stock ponds with mosquito-eating fish such as bluegills or minnows. Certain plants as well as a marketed garlic solution can also repel mosquitos. Harsh chemicals such as malathion are effective but dangerous to surrounding wildlife and humans.
