Michael Olszewski's fabric constructions are powerful evocations of a personal journey and his art is about communication or 'mark-making'. He recorded his feelings in journals where the colors, marks carry the message where he struggles for the right word and there exists a direct correlation to the mood, to the message, to the marks.

An exhibition of art pieces made by knitting and crocheting by sixteen artists, titled 'Not the Knitting You Know', was held at Eleven Eleven Sculpture Space Gallery, Washington, DC, from June 13-September 10, 2005.
