One for all: in creating a universal bath, tight space and special considerations need not present an aesthetic handicap

Article Abstract:

Irrespective of lack of space, with proper planning and specific considerations, a first-floor sitting room, bath and closet was converted into a bedroom suite with a universal bath. The universal bath had a pocket door instead of a hinged door, which allowed a wheelchair user to open it easily, a roll-in shower, sink, medicine cabinets and a tilting mirror and fixtures that were located at lower positions.

Louisiana Purchase: a novice renovator takes on an overlooked gem in an up-and-coming Baton Rouge neighborhood-and finds his calling

Article Abstract:

Frank McMains, who was a novice renovator, renovated an old Neoclassical house in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The renovation was completed in six months, at an expense of $100,000 and included the demolition of the 300 square foot- to 400-square foot apartments that the previous owner had created, and repairing the floors, thus resulting in a larger renovated house with lots of open space.
