Postsecondary faculty work loads: time to reassess?

Article Abstract:

Teaching, research and service are three important components of higher education. The reflection of these components on work load assignments of home economics faculty are analyzed. A discrepancy was seen with the teaching hours put in by teachers with tenure and promotion bases which are teaching plus service and research. Adminstrators and faculty of home economics in hiher education have to revise the curriculum and teaching schedules to eliminate this dispcrepancy between work assignments and expected outcomes.
