Article Abstract:
Cotter & Co's merger with Servistar was the biggest hardware industry event of 1996. The merged organization will be known as TruServ. Servistar and True Value dealers should welcome the merger, because it will help independent dealers maintain their market share. Coast, Servistar, and Cotter dealers can expect the merger to provide them with more services, lower prices, and a larger selection of marketing programs.
