Rickel closes 18 more stores, names Nusim as new president

Rickel Home Centers named Joe Nusim as its new president and CEO following the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Wilmington, DE's refusal to confirm the one month long appointment of Antonio Alvarez to the positions. Industry analysts assume that Alvarez's appointment was denied because his salary was too expensive for the home center store chain that filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in January, 1996. Alvarez's only action during his administration was the closing of 18 stores, bring the total to 44 store closings since the bankruptcy filing date.

The association is also planning to assist dealers with establishing in-store interactive kiosks to serve as marketing and selling tools.
