Do-it-yourself alarm systems are becoming increasingly sophisticated and some are now comparable to professionally-installed systems. There are hard-wired do-it-yourself systems available, and even wireless and new self-contained systems have become more efficient.

Fewer keys, better security

Keys are easily lost or misplaced, and are often considered more of a burden than a convenience. However, the number of door keys can be reduced, or can be eliminated all together. A discussion of keyed-alike locks and keyless locks is presented.
