The South's answer to tarragon

Article Abstract:

Mexican mint marigold (Tagetes lucida) is an excellent substitute for French tarragon in the Lower and Coastal South. While French tarragon does not grow in warm weather, Mexican mint marigold is heat tolerant, has a flavor similar to tarragon, and blooms profusely in fall.

A perfect place

Plastic plant pots are less expensive than clay or concrete pots, according to Kevin Young, who created an attractive courtyard garden at his townhouse in Atlanta, GA. He states that the garden design was based around a concrete lion's head he has used in the fountain.

Courtyard retreats

The homes in the French Quarter of New Orleans, LA, feature courtyard gardens of tropical, subtropical and temperate plants. The gardens complement the brick and stucco walls and pavements of houses built in the 18th century.
