Visitors to the Wright Brothers National Memorial in Kill Devil Hills, in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina must go there between December 12 and 17 in 2003 to join the First Flight Centennial Celebration to honor that historic flight. The event serves as a climax to the tributes, exhibitions and events organized throughout the year to celebrate the achievement of Wright Brothers.

Article Abstract:

Caprock Canyons State Park near Quitaque, Texas, is home to the Texas State Bison Herd. The herd can be traced back to 1878, when plainsman Charles Goodnight captured a few bison from the remnants of the last plains herds and protected them on his ranch. There are now 37 bison in the herd, and they are protected by the state of Texas.

82-year-old Fred Tsoodle sings traditional Kiowa hymns every Sunday Rainy Mountain Kiowa Indian Baptist Church located near Mountainview, Oklahoma. In 2001 Fred was one of the 13 Americans which the National Endowment for the Arts honored with a National Heritage Fellowship.
