The family plan

Article Abstract:

A plan to enlarge the little Georgian-style house on Aunt Peggy's Lane in St. George's, a home to well-known Bermudans is presented. Colin Campbell a local architect plans to enlarge the house, which has a new floor plan that would give the family a living room with access to an expansive veranda, a large kitchen, a powder room, a formal dining room downstairs, and two spacious bedrooms upstairs.

Article Abstract:

Several guidelines for remodeling a house after systematically disassembling in the reverse order of how they were put up with reference to prepping the area, tearing off the roof and taking down the walls are presented. Several steps for taking down the walls include determining if a wall is load bearing, erect shoring around load-bearing walls, and pulling drywall down with a wrecking adze.

Up on the roof

Article Abstract:

Bermuda's roofs of white limestone have evolved over four centuries to withstand hurricanes and collect rainwater for household use. In order to supplement the demand for water, commercial operations have to find other sources like pumping water from underground aquifers and the government has plans to begin desalinization of seawater to make it potable.
