The fields are alive

Article Abstract:

The field sparrow abounds in weedy fields, eating seeds from the ground. Its loud clear musical song is sung only by the males. Females emit high trills or chipping sounds. Scattering sunflower seeds or crushed peanuts on the ground, and putting out dog or horse hair for nests, may attract them.
