Sturdy picnic tables are extremely useful for outdoor gatherings or just as a place to sit and relax and enjoy the outdoors. Instructions are provided for building a trestle picnic table, including determining the desired size and the materials and equipment needed to complete the project.

The Shaker design has both practical and aesthetic appeal. A trestle table requires 10 feet of board which should be purchased with consistent thickness. Warping is avoided by alternating growth rings face up and face down. Construction tips are provided.
