Orbiting the son: a large, eclectic family formed itself around Erez; who adopted whom?
Article Abstract:
Andy, a persistent 40-year-old gay man, adopted Erez because he wanted to parent and to have a son. When the author started dating Andy, he was amazed by how extensive Erez's new family had become because Andy had so many people who wanted to help take care of him. This experience reflects how the traditional nuclear family is not the only way to develop loving, nurturing familial relationships.
