What's holding up your house?

Article Abstract:

Framing uses traditional as well as modern materials that allow for higher ceilings, larger open spaces and cantilevered rooms adding to the beauty and strength of the house. Some of the materials listed are dimensional lumber, engineered lumber, oriented strand board, plywood and steel bars and connectors which when combined with wood can be stronger than wood used alone.
