Bassett Furniture will appoint John Bassett III to replace Joe Philpott as vice president of wood manufacturing. Bassett joined the company in 1981 as a manufacturing trainee and has been plant manager. Lexington boosts production

Article Abstract:

Lexington Furniture has decided to increase production capacity at its plants after experiencing a rising demand for its products. Under the plan, Lexington's plant 5, which was shifted to parts production from production of occasional table in November 19998, will be restored to its full capacity by fourth quarter of 1998. The move also lessen work on the company's plants 1, 2, 4 and 12, which were required to do some occasional table production. A second shift was added to Lexington Furniture's main dining room facility in Mocksville, NC.
