Catalogers receptive to own show

Catalog showroom merchants are receptive to the idea of hosting their own buying show since there will be no NHMA show in January, which is a good buying time for housewares sections. Some express reservations that major manufacturers may not present their products at a special catalogers' show, but it may be necessary since the April NHMA show will come too late for showroom merchants to make changes in their new catalogs.

DuPont is reportedly developing a new non-stick surface for cookware. This will be their third generation non-stick, after Teflon and Silverstone. Department stores are looking forward to the introduction of the new cookware, since they are losing their Silverstone business to discounters.
