The town of Marblehead in New England was opened to the public in Dec. 1995 to raise money for conservation work on the Jeremiah Lee mansion. Marblehead is famous for its houses that date back to the 18th or early 19th centuries. Visitors love to sample this early colonial town's authentic atmosphere.

Marblehead's crown jewels: the Jeremiah Lee and King Hooper houses

Marblehead, MA, was the sixth largest town in the colonies in the mid 18th century and made considerable profits from its fishing trade. The King Hooper Mansion and Jeremiah Lee Mansion remain as two prime examples of its prosperity during colonial times, and today are maintained as museums.
