Continental merges with Spectex
Article Abstract:
Continental Mattress, an independent bedding maker, has merged with textiles and related industries concern Spectex to create a new company to be known as Mattressonic. The merger agreement also calls for Spectex to operate the mattress factory of Continental in Newark, NJ, while Continental will be known as the principal mattress brand produced by the new company. Continental Mattress President Joe Roth will be president of Mattressonic, although he will focus on the sales and marketing activities of the new firm. Spectex owner, Mike Oberlander, will oversee the operations and finance of Mattressonic as company chairman.
