Domain designer Patricia Paul has constantly accomplished sales worth millions for the firm via her customer-focused, relationship selling method. Paul stated that she makes it a point to listen to her client's priorities and demands as it is through listening that a designer like her can satisfy the needs of customers. Among the strategies she practices include motivating the client and giving the customer confidence, as well as making house calls and helping a client sort out priorities. Paul also believes in giving the customer proper information for decisions.

Stoma's Furniture & Interiors of Lafayette, LA, uses accessories to provide additional service to its clients, a service that distinguishes the firm from its rivals. The company's salespeople, who are capable of rendering advice regarding the appearance of a particular room, traditionally bring along a number of accessories when they deliver furnitures to clients. Stoma's, which has a special delivery van for the purpose of loading accessories, has generated 11% of its sales revenues and 12.5% of its earnings for 1998 from accessories.
