Factories survive typhoon

Article Abstract:

Linea Fina president and former president of the Cebu Furniture Industries Foundation Bob Booth said that Typhoon Babs inflicted only minor damages to its furniture factories in Cebu City, Philippines. Lexingtons Furniture's vice president of international sourcing in the Philippine, Steve Robinson also indicated no significant damage to its furniture factories in Cebu or upper north in Angeles City, Pampanga. The hardest hit region was reportedly in the northern islands and Isabella which are not known for furniture production. Typhoon Babs reportedly killed 163 people and injured 265 others.

Rolf Benz pursues U.S. market

Article Abstract:

Rolf Benz of Germany participated at the Chicago Design Show in Illinois in October 1998 under its own brand name, a move aimed at introducing the company's products in the US market. The company, whose products have been marketed in the US by furniture retailers such as Roche Bobois, is one of Europe's top furniture maker and is best recognized for its line of contemporary upholstery products. Rolf Benz, as a part of its move to penetrate the US market, has extended its existing marketing alliance with car maker BMW.
