Out to lunch on journalism

Article Abstract:

The National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) no longer includes representatives from the national or major regional newspapers. The NCTJ gives accreditation to journalism courses in both higher and further educational establishments. Some observers have criticised the NCTJ for being out of date in its methods and for not recognizing the importance of journalists being able to work in a varity of mediums, such as broadcasting. A number of universities objected to the NCTJ becoming involved in setting examinations. Journalism courses are often oversubscribed.

Indiana Zorn and the Web site of Tell en-Nasbeh

Article Abstract:

A Web site for archaeological work in Tell en-Nasbeh was produced using Microsoft FrontPage 97. The site followed a tree-like organization with the main menu as the trunk. Illustrations were added to the article on the archaeological project by scanning photographs. However, these images were not directly mixed with the text so as not to excessively slow down page loading. The images may be accessed through links with the text. Aside from scanned photographs, video clips were also included in the Web site.
