A CA in ... Milan

Article Abstract:

Price Waterhouse audit senior Kathryn Ross recommends that newly qualified accountants consider seeking international accounting experience in Europe. Ross has been working in Milan since Jan 1985, and reports that Italian clients were patient and responsive as she developed fluency in Italian. Price Waterhouse provided language tuition, and Ross now uses only Italian in the office. Ross says that flexibility and receptivity are the main requirements for the newly-qualified accountant who would like to work abroad.

To move or not to move

Article Abstract:

Many UK companies now recognise that they will have to relocate if they are to ensure continued growth. Before doing so, they must consider a wide range of issues. These include the location of their customer base, the time spent travelling by employees, the possible use of new technology and the duplication of services. Care should be taken to select a consultant offering the best possible advice for the individual company's particular circumstances.
